Alan Schwartz
Executive Consultant Extraordinaire
For
many years my older brother Dave had been telling me about
One Stop, the amazing company where he’s been employed.
He shared several stories about Marx Acosta-Rubio, the
CEO, and what an inspiration he is to work for, so as
you can imagine I was already sold. Before I knew it,
I had moved here from Portland, Oregon and I was working
with my brother and the eclectic group of top-notch salespeople
that really redefine integrity and good old-fashioned
service. When I began working at One Stop, I was pigeon
holed as the resident crazy longhaired artist. I may still
be crazy at times, and I am still a fine artist (painter)
and a photographer, but I would have never guessed in
a million years how much I would change just from working
here. Most of the conversion from hippie to yippee has
been subtle, from the shaving of my beard to the buying
of new shoes. Picture this… the peak of my “alteration”
after one year of employment, a scene involving my ex-ponytail,
and the CEO of our company, Marx, grinning while yielding
a pair of scissors. One snip and that was it. Transformation
complete!
It
may have taken a great deal of bantering from my peers,
but one thing is for sure… I’ve grown as a
person since I started here, and our team is the best
that there is!
While I still occasionally teach painting on the side,
and of course I continue to create myself, I have been
focusing most of my energies on the art of learning. For
years, as a studio photographer, my biggest challenge
was to pose parents with their cute, cranky kids and make
them all smile together. Now I have upgraded my professional
mission from toddlers throwing tantrums to making Tech.
Directors and Purchasing Managers feel great and laugh.
Can you guess who is easier to take care of, executives
or two year olds?
Somebody needs to take their midday nap!
